In starting of July 2022, the ECB announced England’s15-man squad for the 3-
match T20 series against Team India.

Who will captain India vs England 2022?
- On 25th June, Rohit Sharma, the test captain of the Indian Team tested positive for covid-19, now on 27th June, the selection committee added Mayank Agarwal to India’s Test squad as cover for captain Rohit Sharma. in Southampton on July 7 but the likes of Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja will be available from the second T20I onwards. The series will serve as an important platform for the star batter after he had a sub-par Indian Premier League 2022 with Mumbai Indians, in which he could only score 268 runs in 14 games at a sub-par average of 19.14

After skipping India's last two T20I series, captain Rohit Sharma will make his return to the team for the upcoming three-match series against England. Southampton will host the first T20I on Thursday followed by games on Saturday and Sunday.
